Tender are invited for The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has assumed the responsibilities of the Federal Highway Administration under 23 U.S.C. 327 and is soliciting comments and information on a proposal to evaluate and mitigate multiple rockfall or potential rockfall locations along the Glenn Highway from Milepost 66.5 to 92. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety and reduce maintenance costs by evaluating and addressing high-risk, unstable rock slopes and implementing appropriate stabilization measures.The proposed work would include the following, as-needed on a site-by-site basis: Installation or upgrading of rockfall mitigation/anchoring devices (e.g. wire mesh, rock bolts, etc.) to catch rocks before they reach the roadway Installation of fencing and rockfall barriers Drilling, blasting, scaling, or otherwise excavating rock to create catchment areas for falling rock and/or to remove rock that may create hazards Replacement, repair, or installation of roadside hardware (e.g. lights, signs, guardrail, and bridge ...
