A corrosion analysis program (CAP) was developed for the North Warning System (NWS). This program is reviewed annually alongside the associated inspection reports. The CAP for the NWS includes work instructions and task cards to assist personnel with completion of the inspections. Storage Tank Systems for Petroleum Products and Allied Petroleum Products Regulations, SOR/2008-197 STS requires that the CAP be “conducted by a corrosion expert”, however as this is impractical to perform across the entire NWS, the inspection reports are forwarded to a corrosion expert for review.
