New patrol vessels for the Danish fleet
Task description: The Danish Navy must have new, multifunctional patrol vessels. The ships will strengthen the navy's capabilities in the Danish waters and make the fleet ready for the meeting with the threats and tasks of the future at sea. The Consortium Danske Patrolje Ships (DPS) has been awarded a total supplier contract with the Defense Material and Purchasing Agency. DPS is formed to lift the task of designing, building and maintaining the Navy's new, modern patrol vessels. The consortium is formed by OMT (Odense Maritime Technology A/S), Terma and PensionDanmark. Through the consortium, OMT's shipbuilding expertise and Terma's military competences are united, while PensionDanmark provides the financial security. The new multifunctional patrol vessels are initially DPS's response to the Folketing's and the Defense's desire to strengthen the Danish navy. However, the export perspectives in the new ship type are not overlooked. With strong relationships with fleets worldwide and a good history of exporting vessel design outside Denmark, DPS will work to make the project another Danish export success for the benefit of Danish business Contracts with special subcontractors.
