Tender Details

Ghent University is planning to build a new research building on its De Sterre campus for the departments "WE06 Chemistry" and "WE07 Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry". Both departments are already established on campus and will be located under one roof in the new project for optimum resultsto be able to focus on efficient use of the necessary infrastructure.

The new research building is located on the side of De Pintelaan, directly adjacent to the plot boundary and centrally located between buildings S8, S9, S10 and S30. S11 serves as the face of the 'logistics'eke cluster'. S11 is literally located on the border between a lockable logistics zone that is not accessible to the public and a more transparent side accessible to researchers and students.

The project includes the following program:

-Offices and support rooms forfor more than 200 FTEs

- Research laboratories and supporting rooms

- Logistics zone (including loading and unloading zone, PMGE rooms, waste rooms, gas storage, climate chambers, etc.)

- Bicycle shed, waste storage and fencing with sliding gate

- Outdoor construction with cycle path, infiltration facility and helophyte filter

The project does not contain any educational functions and is completely organized as a research building in which university employees (permanent academic staff, doctoral students, etc.) will conduct their research.
