From April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2023, the Natural Heritage Conservation Program (NHCP) was administered by Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as the sole signatory on the Contribution Agreement with the Government of Canada. NCC worked closely with Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) to implement the NHCP 2019-2023, while having retained Wildlife Habitat Canada (WHC) to administer the national land trust component of the NHCP 2019-2023.
Following the delivery of the fourth and final year of the NHCP 2019-2023, separate Contribution Agreements were established between Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and NCC, DUC and WHC for the continued implementation of the NCHP to 2026, on a collaborative basis. Once again, partners are enthusiastically delivering the NHCP for the betterment of Canadian land conservation and the protection and recovery of species at risk and their habitat. Partners continue to leverage each other's strengths to reach new levels of conservation success in the delivery of the Program.
Partners are seeking a consultant to conduct a performance evaluation to cover the period from 2019 to 2020 year-end, through the 2023-2024 fiscal year, recognizing that partners are still in the midst of delivering the current Contribution Agreement (i.e., partners are currently in Year 2 of the three-year program extension).
