The Norwegian Space Center (NRS) manages funds regarding "national infrastructure and technical activities" (post-74) for national follow-up of Copernicus. The Copernicus program will be launched a new satellite series with a multi-frequency passive microwave instrument, Copernicus Microwave Imaging Radiometer (CIMR), and a new satellite series with a double-frequency radar-altimeter instrument, Copnicus Polar Ice and CCYTERP. These instruments will provide opportunities for new and further developing applications within, among other things. Measurement of sea ice variables, land variables, snow cover, water and ground surface temperature, saltin holding in the sea surface, soil moisture and wind speed. The first Cristal satellite will be fired in 2027 or 2028, and the first Cimr satellite in 2029. It is assumed that key users in national management, research and industry are involved to ensure national anchoring of the road map.
