Country: Bangladesh Description of the Assignment: The consultant is expected to work on the following research objectives: Analyze the overall economic impacts of the 37% U.S. tariff on Bangladesh's potential export. Analyze the economic impact by following five sectors (a) RMG, (b) Headgear and article therefore (HS Code: 65), (c) Footwear and Leather, (d) articles made of feathers or artificial flowers and human hair (HS Code: 67) and (e) Pharmaceutical products. Provide an assessment of how the U.S. "reciprocal tariffs" regime affects Bangladesh's exporters relative to its main competitors e.g., Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, China etc.Also, provide a descriptive narrative/insight/linkage how it may impact US investment portfolio and potential in Bangladesh if at all, Period of assignment/services: 30 (Thirty) working days over a period of three months, from 20 July to 19 October. Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.Any request for clarification must be sent in writing via messaging functionality in the portal. UNDP will respond in writing including an explanation of the query without identifying the source of inquiry.Please indicate whether you intend to submit a bid by creating a draft response without submitting directly in the system.
