The University of Calgary intends to purchase a mouse tracking system including chip technology from FBI Science e. k. The Wild Microbiome and Immunology Centre (WiMIC) work requires this system with software for analyzing the movement/location of mice in a single large room (barn approximately 165 square meters) with the ability to store and analyze real-time data for microbiome research. To the research team-s knowledge, FBI Science e. k. is the only company that manufactures a mouse tracking system based on radio-frequency identification, which can track several animals in an entire room. Additionally, techniques have been developed and published by others to accomplish tracking at room level using the FBI Science e. k. tracking system.
