North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) is undertaking this procurement to engage a suitably qualified contractor to deliver Stage 1 external air-conditioning works (the project) forming part of the Block C refurbishment program of works at Mount Isa Hospital.The project has been prioritised in response to the increasing risk of failure of the existing air-conditioning infrastructure servicing Block C, particularly ahead of the 2026 summer period. Failure of the existing systems would present a significant operational risk to hospital services and clinical continuity.The project comprises the construct-only delivery of new chilled water air-conditioning infrastructure and associated external mechanical services works, including construction of new hardstands, plant platforms, hydraulic infrastructure and staged commissioning activities within an operational hospital environment.The procurement forms part of a broader staged refurbishment and infrastructure renewal program intended to improve operational resilience, infection control compliance and long-term functionality within the Mount Isa Hospital precinct.
