The Government of Jamaica has received a loan from the World Bank towards the cost of the JAMAICA DISASTER VULNERABILITY REDUCTION PROJECT (JDVRP). The Jamaica Social Investment Fund as the executing agency in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development and the Jamaica Fire Brigade; intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to cover payments under the following contract:
Bid No. 8099: Montego Bay (Barnett Street) Fire Station Construction St. James (#073522)
The scope of works includes but is not limited to the construction of a new fire station comprising a four (4) storey structure housing fire-fighting equipment, engine bays, dormitories, administrative and training facilities. The building will be constructed to withstand the multitude of natural disasters, particularly storm water surges. The building will be constructed to be as energy efficient as possible and is designed to meet regulatory codes. The building is of reinforced concrete column and beam construction. Construction period is Twelve (12) Months.
Bids MUST be accompanied by Bid Security in the amount of Two Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand Jamaican Dollars (J$238, 000.00).
All national Bidders must be registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) at the time of bid opening in the categories "Civil Engineering" in Grade 1 AND/OR "Building Construction" in Grade 1. International bidders must be registered with the NCC prior to award of contract. (See www.ncc.gov.jm/ncc).
All national Bidders must be tax compliant at bid opening and a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) or Tax Compliance Letter (TCL) must be included in your Bid. International bidders will be required to obtain a valid TCC prior to award of contract. (See www.jamaicatax.gov.jm)
Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines Procurement of Goods, Works, and Non-Consulting Services: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (January 2011), and is opened to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guidelines.
Collection Period and Cost: Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 8:30 am to Tuesday November 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at a cost of JMD2, 500 for hard copies.
