supply, deliver and installation supervision of modular floats

notice is hereby given by the city of nanaimo (the "city") of its intent to
contract with poralu marine for:
# manufacture and supply of modular floats and accessories; and
# to deliver modular floats and accessories to brechin boat ramp, colliery
dam and diver lake park located in nanaimo, british columbia; and
# provide supervision for the installation and dismantling of modular float
s; and
# modular floats must be constructed, shipped and installed on or before fe
bruary 13, 2017.
The value of this project including accessories is approximately $258, 000.
The modular floats are constructed from welded marine grade aluminum 6005 a
t5 alloy and shall be extruded in accordance with the requirements of appl
icable sections of federal specification. The frame will be a warren truss
type comprised of tubular extruded aluminum profiles type 6005a-t5 or equi
valent. The decking material shall have an anti-skid surface and shall be
made with injection molded polypropylene or strict approved equivalent. Sea
mless polyethylene floats filled to 95% with expanded polystyrene with a mi
nimum density of 1, 6kg/m? (1 lb/ft3) ? 5% and shall pass the hunt test. The
floats will have to be fabricated in one piece. Floats fabricated with mul
tiple welded components shall not be accepted.
The modular floats consist of:
(i) 14 dock sections measuring 1.75m x 12m - brechin boat ramp.
(ii) 2 dock sections measuring 1.75m x 6m - brechin boat ramp
(iii) 1 dock section measuring 3.5m x 18m - rowing dock at brechin boat ram

(v) 2 gangway sections measuring 1.5m x 4m - colliery dam and diver lake pa
