this is a sources sought notice and is for market research purposes only. This is not a request for proposal, quotation or bid. No solicitation is currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement.
The 20th contracting squadron on shaw afb, sc is conducting market research to identify sources (small businesses and other-than-small businesses) that have the capability to provide a mobile high powered speaker station. This mobile high powered speaker station must be able to operate on a stand-alone basis, and also have the capability to tie into the government s current existing system during base exercises. It must also have the capability to act as a temporary replacement if something were to happen to any of the current giant voice stacks.
The current giant voice system in place is comprised of ati soundblaster hpss16/hpss32 giant voice stacks with a soundblaster siren amp board (p/n 44169). The encoder currently in use at shaw afb is the react 4000 communication control unit developed by ati systems.
The government is looking to determine if there are alternate brands that are available to meet this requirement other than model #mhpss manufactured by acoustic technology inc. That is capable of tying into the existing system and meets the needs of what the government is looking for.
