1. Name of Project: Miyagi Prefecture Northern Regional Sewage Sludge Fertilizer Project
2. Overview of Project: The purpose of this project is to efficiently utilize sewage sludge
generated from the downstream Kitakami River Basin, downstream Kitakami River Eastern Basin,
and Hasama River Basin regional sewerage facilities managed by the Miyagi Prefecture Tobu
Sewage Office, as well as from surrounding public sewerage facilities, through its conversion
into fertilizer. To achieve this, a sludge fertilizer facility (hereinafter referred to as
"the Facility") will be introduced at the Ishikoshi Water Treatment Center of the Hasama
River Basin regional sewerage system. This project includes the design and construction of the
Facility, as well as its maintenance, operation, and the purchase and utilization of fertilizer,
to be carried out under the DBO (Design-Build-Operate) method.
