The University of Calgary requires two (2) miniscope systems, which are lightweight, head-mounted fluorescence microscopes, designed for chronic imaging of neural activity in freely behaving mice. The instrument must capture real-time fluorescence changes from dozens to hundreds of neurons inside brain regions via implanted GRIN lenses, providing cellular-resolution data over weeks to months. Optional three (3) year extended warranty is required. These miniscopes will primarily used in neuroscience to study circuit dynamics during animal behaviors. One system that the lab requires will provide reliable, supported epifluorescence miniscope recording with a single wavelength (one color); the other system will provide miniscope recording with dual wavelengths (two color). The intention of this RFP is to award to a Proponent who submits a proposal which in the sole opinion of the university is the best overall value and suitability.
