Synopsis : The Town Of La Ronge Owns And Operates The Mel Hegland Uniplex Ice Arena Complex. In 1999, An Addition Was Constructed On West End Of The Building Which Resulted In A Raised Roof And Ceiling Section Of The Main Ice Arena. The Vapour Barrier Has Become Compromised In This Area And Has Been Patched Several Times. The Building Has Encountered Significant Water Coming Intermittently From This Area And It Is Believed That It Is The Cause Of Condensation Getting Trapped Behind The Vapour Barrier, Freezing, And Then When The Heaters Are On Or The Temperature Increases Outside It Melts And Runs Out Into The Arena Seating Area. The Building Is Nearing The End Of It`s Life But Is Still Required To Operate Safely And Without Causing Further Damage To The Building.The Objective Of This Project Is To Re-Seal The Existing Vapour Barrier To Condensation From Entering And Getting Trapped.
