MEDICINE WITH ACTIVE SUBSTANCE CERLIPONASE ALFA 150 MG, SOLUTION FOR INFUSION The subject of the order is Medicine with the active substance cerliponase alfa 150 mg, infusion solution Pharmaceutical form: sol inf 5 ml/150 mg+5 ml diluted solution (drug.inj.glass) Administration: intracerebroventricular use The drug cerliponase alfa belongs to a group of drugs known as enzyme replacement therapies. It is used to treat patients with neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis type 2 (CLN2), also known as tripeptidyl peptidase 1 (TPP1) deficiency. People with with CLN2 disease, they lack or have too little of an enzyme called TPP1, which causes a build-up of substances called lysosomal storage substances. In people with CLN2 disease, these substances accumulate in some parts of the body, especially in the brain. This medicine replaces the missing one an enzyme called TPPA, thereby minimizing the accumulation of lysosomal storage substances. This medicine works by slowing down the progression of the disease. The recommended dose is 300 mg of cerliponase alfa administered once every two weeks by intracerebroventricular infusion. Estimated need for the mentioned medicine for 24 months is 360 MJ (180 packs of 2x5ml/150mg+1x5ml prepl. solution or equivalent).
