Mechanical installation services at the Jyväskylän location The object of the procurement is the mechanical installation services of the research and laboratory facilities of VTT's Jyväskylä office, as well as the service and maintenance services of test equipment. At VTT's Jyväskylä office, it is done energy research, fiber product manufacturing processes and industrial water research in an experimental research environment. A key part of the research work is related to experimental research activities. The equipment in use has been designed and built by VTT especially suitable for research use, so similar devices are not commercially available. Research activities require maintenance and upkeep of existing equipment as well as modification of equipment to suit new research needs. In addition there are needs in the construction of new test equipment. Fiber product manufacturing is studied with laboratory and pilot-scale equipment, such as test paper machines. For energy research and its development activities, VTT has pilot test equipment. The object of the acquisition is described in more detail in the tender documents.
