MC-bruggen-26: Market consultation Biobased composite constructions The municipality has been using composite in bridges since 2009 and has now completed approximately 150 composite bridges. Building with composite leads to significantly less disruption during implementation, faster construction times and savings in foundations. Composite bridges are also easy to move and have a long lifespan with low maintenance costs. In line with the objectives of the 'Rotterdam Climate Action Plan' and the 'Rotterdam Circular' purchasing sustainable composite constructions. The term 'composite' in this context refers to fibre-reinforced plastics. The Municipality has extensive experience with traditional glass fiber reinforced composite. The Municipality is interested in composites for ivil-technical supporting structures that perform equivalently to traditional composites in terms of structural behavior and lifespan. The Municipality wants to make optimal use of the possibilities of the market and gain insight into the points of interest from the market, which is why this market consultation.
