NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source with Protein Metrics LLC, Boston MA to renew NIST-s current Standalone Renewable 12-mo. Machine-wide, Node-locked Byos License Modules for Peptide Analysis and Chromatogram Analysis.
The NIST Biomolecular Measurement Division (BMD) routinely performs analysis of biomolecules including proteins, glycoproteins and glycans in support of its mission to advance analytical techniques and measurement capabilities for biopharmaceutical product characterization and quality control.
Complex datasets generated from mass spectrometry analysis require robust data analysis platforms to confidently identify and quantify analytes of interest (peptides, glycopeptides and glycans).
The BMD-s suite of instrumentation includes mass spectrometry instrumentation manufactured by mutliple vendors, each producing raw data in their own proprietary formats. Software used to analyze the raw data must be capable of processing any type of file format.
The use of mass spectrometry data processing software directly supports the development of new reference materials, maintenance of current reference materials and BMD-s mission of advancing technologies used in the development and production of biopharmaceuticals.
Protein Metrics Byos software workflows have been developed over the last several years for characterizing new reference materials and monitoring the quality of current reference materials, and new quantitative platforms are currently in development for use with new analyte classes.
The Protein Metrics Byos software suite requested is an integral component of data processing and analysis workflows currently established by the BMD.
