Market research/RFI - The patient's access to their own image series Patients have a statutory right to access their own health information, including bidediagnostic data, cf. the Patient and User Rights Act § 5-1 and the Personal Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 15. I Helse Sør-Öst currently provides image data mainly via CD/DVD and in some cases memory sticks. This solution is resource-intensive for both patients and healthcare providers, involves challenges related to physical distribution and information security, and is not in line with the development towards digital availability of personal data. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority has indicated that CD/DVD can no longer be considered a normal electronic form according to GDPR article 15 no. 3. Deadline for responding to the market survey is 21.8.2026. Answers must be sent in the communication module in Mercell.
