Market research in connection with the announcement of the permit period for the rental of small electric vehicles on public land in Oslo municipality The City Environment Agency wishes to invite market players who are engaged in the rental of free-flowing shared electric bicycles and electric scooters for a market survey. The purpose of the invitation is to gain general insight into the interest and opportunity the market has to offer electric bicycles in combination with electric scooters to ensure that the criteria in the next announcement are in line with what the market can offer and the city wants. Here, we particularly want specific feedback on free floating electric bicycles, which are not offered in Oslo at the present time. Today, Oslo offers two different offers of micromobility; the permit scheme for small electric vehicles (electric scooters and e-bikes), and a separate agreement with Oslo city bike. The permit scheme is a free flow scheme with a duration of 2 years and allows companies with a permit to have both electric bicycles and electric scooters. In the current period, only electric scooters are offered from the companies that have permission in Oslo. Oslo Bysykkel offers permanent installations of electric bicycles and regular bicycles within ring 3, and is an agreement that lasts until 2030. Today's permit for small electric vehicles gives the companies the opportunity to deploy a total 16, 000 vehicles which are distributed equally between three companies.
