International Finance Cooperation (“IFC”), a member of the World Bank Group (“WBG”), is an international organization whose purposes under its Articles of Agreement include seeking to stimulate, and to help create conditions conducive to, the flow of private capital, domestic and foreign, into productive investments in member countries.IFC-s Disruptive Technologies, Services & Funds (CSF) department is investing in private equity (“PE”) funds and venture capital (“VC”) funds, is co-investing with portfolio VC and PE funds into their portfolio companies and is also doing direct venture capital and equity investments. CSF investments are in emerging markets, including in some countries classified as frontier markets with low per-capita income levels, that are included in the International Development Association (IDA) list of countries or the Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations (FCS) list. CSF have also advisory capabilities that help strengthen the development of the private sector in emerging markets.This assignment aims to identify investment opportunities and design an investment partnership emphasizing 44 select countries across the Caribbean, Latin America, Oceania, and Africa, structured along three components: 1) market mapping and pipeline enablement, 2) joint venture design between IFC and potential partners or clients, and 3) capability-building and implementation plan. Component 1 - Market mapping: Detailed analysis of macroeconomic conditions, investment trends, regulations, and VC/PE fund landscapes in the target countries grouped by Latin America, Asia & Oceania, and Africa, with possible reasonable scope expansion.Component 2 - Joint venture design: Review of IFC identified clients- mandate, KPIs, governance, capital, and risk appetite to recommend partnership models and operational plans, including governance, compliance, and route-to-market strategies.
