As a result of the activities of UNRWA Health Centers in Jordan, the hazardous Bio-medical waste shall be transported and treated in accordance with the instructions of the Department of Medical Waste Management No. 1/2001 issued by the Ministry of Health (Jordan) and related environmental legislation(the Environment Law No. (52) for the year 2006 and the Hazardous Waste Management and Handling Regulations of 2003 issued by the Jordan Ministry of Environment (Appendix 1). The Waste Management Framework Law No.16 of 2020The purpose of this Terms of Reference (ToR) is to engage a specializedcontractor(s) to provide com-prehensive services for the safe and compliant collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of hazardous bio-medical waste generated by UNRWA's 25 Health Centres in Jordan. The selected con-tractor(s) will ensure that all activities are performed in full compliancewith the relevant Jordanian regulations and environmental laws, thereby safeguarding public health and the environment.3.
