scope of work:

the city of moncton requires the services of wide-track bulldozers (with a

licensed and trained operator) to spread snow and / or fill evenly

throughout the city`s municipal dump areas on an "as required" basis

throughout the year. Loaders equipped with a snow blower attachment are

required to throw snow evenly throughout the snow dump areas on an "as

required" basis during the winter season, beginning november 15th through

to april 30th. The dump sites are situated at various locations throughout

the city.

The equipment listed in this agreement must be available to the city at the

time requested by the engineering & environmental services department, or

public works division.

All equipment must be on the job site and spreading / blowing within one

(1) hour after call-out.

Equipment requirements:

the successful contractor(s) shall be required to supply the equipment

approved and listed in the "pricing and equipment schedule" for spreading /

blowing, all of which shall meet or exceed the following requirements:

(a) wide track bulldozer(s) with a minimum 140 horsepower (hp) rating. A

wide track bulldozer is required for better stability, traction, power, and

compaction of snow in winter, and fill in summer. Each piece of equipment

shall be listed separately on the "pricing and equipment schedule" provided

herein.

(b) loaders with a minimum 195 horsepower (hp) rating, and blower

attachment with a minimum 270 horsepower (hp) rating. A loader with

snowblower attachment is required for blowing of snow in winter. Each

piece of equipment shall be listed separately on the "pricing and equipment

schedule" provided herein.

Proposed contract term:

the proposed term of this agreement shall be for a twelve (12) month

period, with an option to extend the agreement for up to two (2) additional

twelve (12) month periods (year two (2) and year three (3)), if it is in

the city`s best interest to do so.

Bid security:

a bid bond, certified cheque, money order, or irrevocable bank letter of

credit, made payable to "the city of moncton", in the amount of three

thousand dollars ($3, 000.00), shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that

a contract will be entered if a bid is accepted.

Bank drafts shall not be accepted. Any bid submitted with a bank draft as a

bid security will be rejected.
