Description : System to reduce low frequent magnetic fields in surgery rooms

At the moment the UMCG is prepairing a huge renovation project to reorganize and rebuild it''s ''hotfloor'' including 24 surgery rooms and several intensive cares.

To start this project the UMCG have to build 6 new operation rooms at ground floor level at first to create space for disassembling the old areas.

UMCG wants to build new surgery rooms above an existing power-station (10kV/400V). As sensitive devices will be used in these rooms which are disturbed by magnetic fields, the surgery rooms need to be shielded in order to reach 100nTpp @ 50Hz as defined in the Dutch norm NEN1010 and ÖVE/ÖNorm E 8007 and the DIN/ VDE 0100-71.

In the area with the highest magnetic field levels magnetic fields up to 31''000nTpp @ 50Hz are expected on floor level.
