Lot 401 Machine groups 1-3 Lot 402 Storage pump 3 The Etzelwerk power plant, built between 1932 and 1937, uses the gradient between Lake Sihl and Lake Zurich to generate energy and produces around 10% of Switzerland's traction power requirements. After Concession renewal in 2023, SBB is now carrying out the renewal and replacement of parts of the Etzelwerk pumped storage power plant as part of the Etzelwerk power plant renewal project. The subject of this tender is: Renewal of the original machine sets 1-3 as well as subsystems of machine groups 4-6. Further services will be tendered as part of options for future renovation work on machine groups 4-7, which are currently listed below Work on machine groups 1-3 is planned.
