ESDC is undertaking a project to convert the round area outside of the 4th floor mailroom into a new kitchen and lunchroom facility. The project will include a full renovation of the existing space, including demolition and installation of new flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, lighting, and all associated architectural finishes. The consultant shall assess existing site conditions and verify that available record drawings accurately reflect current conditions through a comprehensive site investigation. It is anticipated that floor levelling may be required prior to construction. The new lunchroom shall be designed to accommodate a minimum occupancy of 24 persons and will include all required millwork, appliances, and furniture, including countertops with cupboards, space for three microwaves (with at least one microwave located at an accessible height), two full-size refrigerators, tables, and chairs. The client will be procuring all the tables, chairs, fridges and microwaves for this project but the locations of these items must be noted in the design. The project scope shall also include the purchase and installation of centralized waste stations to support waste diversion and recycling initiatives. Acoustic design considerations shall be incorporated to minimize noise transfer to the adjacent mailroom and nearby workstation areas.
