Description : TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR SERVICE CONTRACTING

Assignment: Entering into a Long-Term Agreements (LTA) for Translation and Editing.

Location: Amman-Jordan

Duration: 12 months with the possibility to extend for another 12 months depending on the performance evaluation.

Reporting To: Communication Specialist.

1. JUSTIFICATION/BACKGROUND

UNICEF requires high quality translation of publications, reports and documents from Arabic to English and vice versa to support its research, advocacy and implementation of programmes for the well-being of children in Jordan.

In order to minimise the tendering process for every translation assignment, and increase cost efficiency, a Long-Term Arrangement (LTA) is proposed with companies/individuals to meet the needs of the office for twenty-four (24) months.

2. OBJECTIVE AND TARGETS

To produce high quality and timely translation of publications and documents supporting UNICEF's advocacy and programmes for the well-being of all children in Jordan.

3. SCOPE OF THE WORK (WORK ASSIGNMENT)

Translate reports, publications and other advocacy and communication materials from English to Arabic and/or Arabic to English as requested by UNICEF.

Undertake translation of documents /texts with specialized language as per guidance from UNICEF (e.g. Technical, Legal and medical).

Ensure that the translated text is linguistically and grammatically correct and error free, and that it meets the standards...
