Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) will be preforming wastewater collection upgrades to a series of facilities upstream of Lift Station #1. Lift Station #1 is located at 3311 SW 2nd Ave, Gainesville Fl 32601.In order to accommodate these improvements, the existing flow (4, 500gpm) will need to be temporarily bypassed during construction. The bypass operation will consist of primary pumping, back-up pumping, 24/7 watch, pipe plugging, and a manifolded piping system that will have the ability to direct flow to each wet well of Lift Station #1. The bypassing operation is a crucial element of the project as Lift Station #1 is the largest lift station in Gainesville.
