Notice of intent: leo fsr upgrade - 38.5-68.5 km and the 300 and 400 road systems
the ministry of forest lands and natural resources operations and rural dev
elopment, fort st. James forest district, at 2537 stones bay road, intends
to award the leo forest service road (fsr) safety upgrade project for the f
ollowing proposed work/service:
maintenance works on the leo forest service road (fsr) system including: br
ushing, ditching, grading, culvert replacements, re-making of the road pris
m profile, re-alignment, and construction of pull-outs.
The proposed work/service is to be carried out by eagle valley holdings ltd
with a contract price of less than $670, 000.00.
The anticipated term of the contract is from september 1, 2017 to december
1, 2017. There will be no options to renew.
The contractor`s qualifications required to complete the services are:
all those required in standard major works contract with bc.
Flnrord - fort st james resource district office has chosen not to compete
the contemplated contract. In march 2017, bc and takla lake first nations,
along with the carrier sekani tribal council and other carrier sekani first
nations, signed the interim pathway forward agreement. In parallel to the
agreement, flnrord committed to provide $3 million in support of contract
opportunities to takla lake first nations, nak`azdli first nation, and tl`a
zt`en first nation to 1) improve road safely, 2) reduce environmental impac
ts, and 3) reduce wear and tear to vehicles and machinery. This contract p
artially fulfills this government-to-government commitment. The funding is
a direct accommodation to the first nation and can only be provided to tha
t first nation (or their delegate).
