LSJH participates in the ERDF-funded Biogas business project, which examines the industrial the possibilities of large-scale biogas production in Finland as well as the related business and operating models. As part of the project described above, LSJH commissions an expert report on what kind of role a municipally owned waste management company can participate in the activities of biogas production and the ecosystem built around it. Potential inputs to the biogas plant from the waste received by LSJH are separately collected biowaste from housing and municipal service activities, as well as sedimentation and closed tank sludge. In addition, the project examines the possible suitability of the biofraction that may be screened from mixed waste as part of the biogas ecosystem. starting up. The report identifies different operating model options and examines the most legally and competitively sustainable options that are suitable for the operation of a municipal waste management company.
