Public Health Ontario (PHO) believes that the following procurement qualifies as a sole source or single source procurement. The purpose of this Advanced Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is to determine if there are other suppliers capable of meeting the requirements of the procurement for the followingservices for PHO. Vendor Bio-Rad Laboratories (Canada) Ltd. Services Outlined in the ACAN Purpose Geenius™ HIV-1/-2 Confirmatory Assay Systems, Including All Compatible Reagents and Consumables PHO is the reference laboratory for HIV testing in the Province of Ontario. The differential HIVantibody confirmatory testing is used as one of the confirmatory tests following a reactive or indeterminate HIV screening test to confirm laboratory evidence of HIV infection. HIV confirmatory testing is crucial in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of new HIV infection. PHO believes thatthere is only one Health Canada approved supplier capable of providing all the required services in the Canadian Market currently available for the proprietary equipment. PHO intends to award a three (3) firm years and one (1) option year contract to Bio-Rad Laboratories (Canada) Ltd. for the productsdescribed in the ACAN attachment. This request does not constitute a call for tenders.
