Abstract: This contract will provide development for senior leaders which will enable them to engender a positive culture of Welsh-English bilingualism in their organisations. The context for this is that Wales is a country where one language has traditionally had a lower status than the other, and where a 'diglossic' (different languages used for different functions of differing societal status) situation has developed. The overarching objective of each programme is that attendees are more aware of their own personal stance on bilingualism in the workplace and have had the opportunity to explore the potential for engendering a positive approach to bilingualism in the culture where they work. Both programmes must be based on the latest research and contain practical up- to-date knowledge of relevant Welsh Language Governmental strategies and goals, and the future challenges facing leaders in the public sector in Wales. The successful contractor will be expected to design and deliver the following modules:A: One day face-to-face foundation programme "Leading in a Bilingual Country"B: Longer modular programme - Critical Language Awareness
