the department of veterans affairs (va), nebraska-western iowa health care system, omaha, nebraska has a need for a recumbent cross trainer and be able to meet or exceed the following specific requirements.

Recumbent cross trainer (physical therapy equipment)

salient characteristics must meet or exceed the following:

" ergonomic body positioning

" fits users from 4 feet 9 inches to users 6 feet 5 inches

" accommodates users up to 500 lbs.

" self-powered drive train

" feet security system which enables the rider to secure feet to pedals

" multiple locking foot angle positions on pedals

" 360 degree swivel seat with multiple locking intervals

" seat to be a minimum of 18" wide

" generator resistance range of 0 - 1000 watts

" ergonomically shaped hand grips

" arm adjustment available at least 12 inches

" contact heart rate grips or monitors

" flip up arm rests for easy access in and out of machine

" wheelchair height seating

" console features: comprehensive data readouts with goal setting in time, distance and calories; a minimum of 10 workout programs; info button with help features; multiple display languages; heart rate monitoring; battery saver mode; administrative mode to customize console

" machine to be no more than 400 lbs and no more than 80" long, 36" wide
