Navy is the largest training provider in Australia for the maritime technical domain. Training Force is responsible for providing the training of both permanent and reserve Navy personnel from initial recruitment to ongoing employment training (e.g. trade/profession/platform specific) including professional career development, in the most efficient and effective way. Some deficiencies have been identified which, due to a number of factors, Training Force is unable to deliver the appropriate courses and/or proficiencies and to address the subsequent skill gaps. The Commonwealth is seeking to engage a highly capable and experienced contractor to develop and deliver tailored courses that align specifically with the Navy-s requirements, specifically : a. Deliver vessel master training for vessels up to 24 metres in length to the Australian Industry Standard of a “Master up to 24m Near Coastal” for up to 36 personnel per year. This training is to include RAN specific content relating to the operation of vessels such as Steber craft, RAN Dive launches and MDREU support vessels. Practical elements of the course are to be provided in Sydney, NSW and Rockingham, WA. The contractor shall provide the training platform for Sydney-based training and the RAN will provide the training platform for WA-based training.
