REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) — MARKET RESEARCH ONLY
1. Purpose
This Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for market research and planning purposes in accordance with FAR Part 10.
This notice:
- Is NOT a solicitation
- Does NOT constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ)
- Does NOT obligate the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract
Responses are voluntary and will be used to determine acquisition strategy, including potential small business set-aside decisions.
2. Requirement Overview
The Government is seeking information from qualified vendors for the following:
Project Area: Federal Bureau of Prisons Reentry Services Division (RSD)/Education Branch
Objective: The Federal Bureau of Prisons is looking for a secure device for inmates and another for Administrator (staff) to be used across the BOP education departments without compromising security or functionality. The BOP also requires compatible docking stations that have exposed USB, HDMI, and Ethernet ports.
3. Set-Aside Market Research
The Government is conducting market research to determine the availability of capable small business concerns and to support a potential set-aside decision in accordance with FAR Part 19.
