Description : BACKGROUND

Public health laboratories provide essential services including diseases and outbreak detection, emergency response, environmental monitoring, and disease surveillance. The National Policy and Strategy for Health Laboratories, which are key guidance documents for laboratory services development in Lao PDR, require that quality management standards and systems be established and implemented in public health and clinical diagnostic laboratories nationwide within a monitoring framework to ensure the quality of laboratory management system. The quality manual describes the complete quality management system of the laboratory. It describes the structure of the quality management system, how it is implemented and how it is functioning. It further refers to all SOPs of the laboratory for more in-depth instructions. It is very crucial for all laboratories to have the quality manual.

PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY

The consultant will liaise with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to develop quality manual for national laboratory and epidemiology (NCLE) laboratory and develop quality manual template for provincial laboratories in Lao PDR.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
