Kvernhushagen Waste Place Action

In line with the state manager's order, measures shall be taken to limit the spread of pollution at Kvernhushaugen landfill in Sogndal municipality. Existing cover that today lies on the landfill prevents the infiltration of water into the the waste. This is because the landfill is added to a lot of surface water and there is high ground stem in the landfill. By refining the amount of infiltrated water by laying a new dense top deck and establishing a better overwater system in the border zones of the landfill, the emission and spread of the pollution will be able to be limited significant. The measures will provide permanently lower groundwater levels in the landfill, and will result in a large reduction in formation and exceptions of landfill. It will be established a reindeer plant for landfills downstream of the landfill, where the Sigevatnet will gather, air and sediment before it is towed to the river. The Should also be established new VAO pipes downstream of the landfill to increase the capacity of the overwater system Nedstraum's landfill area.
