The Ifc Kenya Warehouse Receipt System Project is Hiring a Consulting Firm to Carry out a Comprehensive Assessment of Both Public and Private Sector Opportunities in Commodity Storage and Services Related to Warehouse Receipts and to Audit the Warehouse Infrastructure in Kenya and Make Appropriate Recommendations. The Audit will Focus on Both Public and Privately Owned Storage Infrastructure in Both Dry and Cold Chain Facilities. The Value Chains will Include: Maize; Beans; Irish Potatoes; Coffee; Tea; Macadamia Nuts and Meat the Infrastructure Facilities Include Warehouses and Silos Such as Cereal Depots; Millers- Stores; Cold Chain Facilities for Perishable Products and Coolers with Selected Scan of Other Ownership Types. These will Include the National Cereals and Produce Board (Ncpb); Kenya National Trading Corporation; Cooperatives (including Those Managed by Private Institutions Such as Afex); Cargil and Donor Sponsored Warehouses (e.g. Fcs/Kcep-Cral) among Others. The Audit will Cover the following Counties: Trans Nzoia; Uasin Gishu; Embu; Bungoma; Elgeyo Marakwet; Nyandarua; Kirinyaga; Embu; Kericho; Muranga; Meru and kajiado.objectives of the Study and Methodologythe Overall Objective of this Study is to:1. Assess the Current Market Demand and Supply for Agri-Storage and Associated services2.Identify Potential Gaps and Opportunities that will Provide Informed Basis for the Private Sector Investors and the Ifc to Make Investments in the Storage Sector.3. Strengthen the Warehouse Receipt System Linked to the Commodity Exchange. Tor Attached.
