Job Description

The IT department supports the organization-s work by providing reliable and scalable applications and infrastructure of the IRC-s offices in the US and around the world. An integral component of this effort is ensuring users have the knowledge and training needed to utilize our business systems effectively.

The IRC is currently engaged in a project to implement a new collaboration tool (Microsoft Teams) to the entire organization. Microsoft Teams is a platform that combines workplace chat, meetings, notes, and more. We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist to support the change management campaign to engage our users, teach them how to use Microsoft Teams and ensure a successful transition to a new collaboration tool. This is a short term role (up to 6 months) with potential to become permanent.

Main Goal / Scope of Work:

The Training Specialist will work closely with the IT Training team to support training development, delivery and rollout of Teams to the entire organization. A key aspect of this role will include ongoing development and maintenance of training materials and facilitation of training sessions to global IRC staff. Training mediums will include formal classroom delivery at IRC offices in the US and international field offices, as well as remote virtual webinars using WebEx. The trainer may also support training initiatives for other IRC collaboration tools; including RescueNet (the IRC-s company intranet), WebEx, Box and other systems.

Major Responsibilities

• Work independently (and with the Teams project group) to learn Microsoft Teams, and best practices for IRC staff.

• Develop training materials and conduct training on Teams for global IRC staff.

• Develop and oversee production of job aids and classroom set up for training sessions.

• Administer post-training continued education sessions, including 1:1 and group sessions.

• Create and maintain self-directed video tutorials on Teams features and functions.

• Work closely with the Teams projects group and Global Communications teams to “Champion” Teams and support best practices and knowledge sharing.

• Create and manage Teams intranet help pages; including training materials, tips and FAQs.

• Manage ‘Teams- training calendar on Kaya (the IRC-s Learning Management System).

• Conduct post-training analysis to determine training effectiveness.

• Provide feedback to end-users and Deputy Director IT Training throughout the training rollout.

• Maintain successful training delivery satisfaction statistics to drive program success.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• 2-4 years of combined progressive training facilitation and instructional design experience.
• ELearning development experience using Camtasia, Articulate or similar tools.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Excellent writing and documentation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• A passion for adult education and teaching.
• Experience in training session facilitation of 10 or more people for global audiences.
• Advanced experience using WebEx to conduct global training webinars.
• Ability to constantly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
• Ability to communicate and build effective working relationships across a diverse group of people and departments.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Box, and Learning Management Systems.
• Fluency in French a plus (but not required).
