The City of Plant City (City) owns and operates its Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) for the treatment and disposal of domestic and industrial wastewater since 1951. The WRF has continuous backwash upflow tertiary sand filters installed in 1997 and expanded in 2008. This process requires an air system to move the sand to remove suspended solids and other constituents that impart turbidity to the water. Two of the existing air compressors have been in operation since 1997 and one was added as part of the expansion project. Replacement is required due to the age and wear and tear of the existing Ingersoll Rand (IR) air compressors and related components.
