Invitation to research and development collaboration for Testarena, to test and demonstrate zero- and low-emission aircraft Zero and low emissions: solutions where the propulsion system is based on battery, electric, hydrogen-electric, hydrogen combustion or a any hybrid solution that will contribute significantly to emission reductions compared to aircraft with conventional propulsion systems. A parallel RFI/RFP process specifically targeting airport hydrogen infrastructure is expected to be issued later part of 2025. Aircraft is broadly understood here as a controlled fixed-wing aircraft, rotor-wing aircraft, multi-rotor aircraft (eVTOL) or any other configuration in a clean sheet or retrofit design. Unmanned aircraft are not covered by this announcement. Payload can be passengers and/or cargo. The regional aviation sector is generally understood here as short flights of less than 1000 km, operated by aircraft with fewer than 100 seats, but also includes very short flights of less than 100 km, operated by aircraft with fewer than 10 seats. The focus is on net emission reduction while providing relevant air mobility services.
