Invitation to research and development collaboration for the test arena, to test and demonstration of zero- and low-emission aircraft
"Zero and low emissions": Solutions where the propulsion system is based on battery, electric, hydrogen-electrical, hydrogen combination or any hybrid solution that will contribute significantly to emission reductions compared to aircraft with conventional propulsion systems. A parallel RFI/RFP process specifically aimed at hydrogen infrastructure at airports is expected to be issued in the latter part of 2025. "Flights" are here widely understood as a controlled fixed flight, rotor wing aircraft, multirotor aircraft (possibly) or any other configuration. Unmanned aircraft are not covered by this announcement. Payload can be passengers and/or cargo. The "regional aviation sector" is generally understood as short flights of less than 1000 km, operated by aircraft with fewer than 100 seats, but also includes very short flights of less than 100 km, operated by aircraft with fewer than 10 seats. The focus is on net emission reduction while providing relevant air mobility services.
