Invitation to market dialogue: Itärada terrain model This announcement is related to the procurement procedure that Itärata Oy may later start to acquire a terrain model. The market dialogue concerns the following purchase: Procurement exceeding the EU threshold: 1) Itärada terrain model Em. the goal of the project is to produce the initial data necessary for planning for the general and track plan phases and for possible subsequent construction planning. The preparation of the general plan is already underway. Itärata Oy's mission is to plan a rail connection enabling high-speed train traffic from Lento-rada via Porvoo to the construction phase in Kouvolaa. The main goals of the project are to enable faster long-distance train service to eastern Finland: along the Savo and Karelia lines to Kuopio, Joensuu and Kainuuse, and connects the city of Porvoo to the rail transport network of the capital-Kiseu region. 2 million Finns in seven provinces live in the area affected by the Eastern Railway. Itärata does the design together with several design partners, with municipalities and cities and other stakeholders. The planning aims for the construction of the track to begin in the early 2030s and for the track to be completed by 2040. Itärata was approved in July 2024 for the expanded Europe to the comprehensive transport core network (TEN-T).
