Investigation of ICT solution and alternative solutions for training for inmates

The training program is a central part of the activity offer in Norwegian prisons, and is crucial for good return to society. IN Training In prison, a digital solution is used today to be phased out. There is therefore a new ICT solution (resolution) to meet relevant requirements for educational training and security. The new ICT solution has been piloted in Agder prison since 2024, and is scheduled to the pilot Expanded to several departments and prisons in 2025. The ICT solution is currently only developed for prisons with a higher degree of security. There are significant costs associated with the solution, especially when upscaling to several prisons and it is considered whether the solution is appropriate to use for all inmates, Regardless of the level of security. The Directorate of Directorate (Udir) and the Directorate of Criminal Justice (KDI) have been commissioned to investigate the possibilities of scaling down the implementation of the new ICT solution, and investigate various alternatives to this. For the implementation of the assignment, Udir and KDI also cooperate with Vestland County Council (VFLK). Udir has been given responsibility for leading the report and conducting the procurement of competence that can assist.
