The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 09, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source purchase order to Cynergy Professional Systems an SDVOSB that is an authorized distributor of Johnson Controls products and can provide Personal Identity Verification (PIV) readers that comply with all applicable federal standards. Cynergy is the current contractor providing maintenance and support for the existing Johnson Controls access control system infrastructure. Awarding this requirement to the same source will ensure compatibility with the existing equipment and enable the newly installed PIV readers to be seamlessly integrated into the current access control system and maintenance program. This approach minimizes system compatibility risks, avoids duplication of maintenance agreements, eliminates the need for an additional maintenance contract, and reduces overall lifecycle costs. Procuring compatible PIV readers through the existing maintenance and support framework will ensure uninterrupted system performance, simplify maintenance, and provide a cost-effective solution for the Government.
