Email: Jonatan.rondon@va.gov DESCRIPTION: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO Evacusled, Inc., 29 Rangemore RD, Toronto, ON M8Z5H8 for its Evacusled brand of emergency evacuation sleds for the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (1)(ii), Soliciting from a Single Source. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing with a Size Standard of 800 employees.Requirement:The contractor shall provide the emergency evacuation sleds that meet the following specifications and requirements. The contractor shall also provide training, maintenance, and support services as detailed below. The evacuation sleds must be designed for use to move individuals with moderate to severe mobility impairments. The equipment must be capable of safely transporting individuals down flights of stairs and across flat surfaces. The sled must be lightweight, durable, and easy to operate by a single person, including during vertical evacuations. The equipment must comply with all relevant safety standards and regulations. Adjustable safety straps to secure the individual during transport. This should include a head immobilization strap or similar mechanism to protect patients who have spinal issues. Integrated reinforced ergonomic handles for ease of use by the operator(s). Device should have rigid spinal protection panels or boards.
