Tender Details

This Request for Proposals (the "RFP") is an invitation by the University of Ottawa (the "University") to prospective proponents to submit proposals for an Inductive Bridge for Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility Measurement, as further described in Appendix D (RFP Particulars) Section A (the "Deliverables").THE DELIVERABLESThe requested instrument is an Inductive Bridge for Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility Measurement in rocks. The instrument will be housed in the new Ore Deposit Petrology Laboratory (ODPL) at the University of Ottawa. This laboratory is dedicated to the petrological characterization of ore mineralized rocks, with specific capacity in reflected light characterization, sample visualization and microstructural analysis. The aim of the current project is to apply the AMS technique to quantifying petrofabic in a wide range of rock types associated with base- and precious metal mineralisation, to better understand ore deposit forming processes. The instrument will complement other state-of-the-art microscopy tools in the ODPL.The instrument should be capable of rapid and precise measurement of magnetic susceptibilty and AMS. The instrument should be automated, such that the sample orientation does not have to be changed manually during a single measurement. The instrument should be capable of measuring susceptibility and AMS in different magnetic fields. The instrument should also be capable of measuring low field magnetic susceptibility at high and low The ...
