NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE
INDEXOR, COLUMBUS
The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, Columbus OH, 420 N. James Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with ABBOTT LABORATORIES INC., 100 Abbott Park Rd., Abbott Park, IL 60064.
This purchase is direct with Abbott and transfers between two organizations; Abbott does not use third parties to distribute their products to the government. No other vendor offers a total solution that provides a full preanalytical sample tracking and transport system with sample location, transport conditions log, automatic alerts, sorting for test prioritization made easy, and visual sample location making manual retrieval faster and more reliable.
The Government believes that only ABBOTT LABORATORIES INC. can satisfy the agency requirement. We intend to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Other people may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Wednesday, August 5, 2026, by 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
