The Independent Assurance of Settlements (IAS) Program provides independent oversight of significant ATO settlements to ensure they represent fair and reasonable outcomes for the Australian community. The IAS Panel will comprise of up to six retired eminent experts with substantial experience and community standing. Appointees will provide assurance relating to settlements involving a wide range of tax technical areas, including income tax, superannuation, international tax, GST, and tax administration. Respondents must demonstrate at least 20 years of experience, deep expertise in one or more specialist areas, and a high level of professional credibility. Appointees may also be engaged for other technical advisory roles.
